Obituary: Thomas C. Daly,

Thomas C. Daly, 81 and a resident of Calumet, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at his home.

He was born on April 14, 1938 in Omaha, Nebraska to Thomas L. and Dorothy I. (Allee) Daly.

Tom was a very generous man. He was always there for anybody in their time of need. He would never ask for anything in return.

He was a true craftsman. Tom worked as a flooring contractor for over 40 years, and while he was working, he put all he could into every job. He was very professional and dedicated to everything that he did.

Tom loved to hunt, fish, and garden. Whether he was living in the desert of California or here in the UP, he was always growing tomato plants or cactus plants.

Tom was enlisted with the United States Marines before becoming a flooring contractor.

He was a member of the William Giroux American Legion Post #90 in Lake Linden, CLK Rotary Club, Keweenaw Marine Corp League, and Devil Dogs.

He is survived by:

Steve Daly of Desert Hot Springs, CA

Kelly Daly of Cathedral City, CA

His grandchildren: Jennifer Daly, Jeff Daly, Anthony Daly, Steven Daly-Moore, and Thomas Daly-Moore

His great grandchildren: Ahnna Peterson, Thomas Daly-Moore Jr., Bentley Daly-Moore, and Baby Ollie

His brother Mike (and Micki) Daly of Omaha, Nebraska.

He is also survived by many close friends he considered family.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, June 13, 2019 at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home with the Copper Country Veterans Association to officiate. Friends may call at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet on Thursday, June 13, 2019 from 11:00 am until the time of the service at 1:00 pm.
