Hancock
Thomas A. Peterson, 64, a resident of Hancock, MI, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at the Omega House in Houghton following a lengthy illness.
He was born on March 12, 1956, in Hancock to Ralph and Dorothy (Davey) Peterson. Tom was a graduate of the Houghton School with the class of 1974.
Tom began working at Jim’s Foodmart while in high school and continued till his retirement. While there he worked in the produce and meat departments and was the go-to handyman. Tom was a kind hard-working man throughout his life.
In August of 1985, he was united in marriage to Kathleen Anderson. In 1987 they welcomed their son Dustin. They later parted ways but always remained close friends through the years.
Tom was known for lending a helping hand to others. He loved spending time at his family’s camp in Twin Lakes, (that was always his happy place!!!) and spending time with his son Dustin and grandson Tommy. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and steering his pontoon on the lake. Those were his happy moments.
preceding in death were his parents, several aunts & uncles.
He is survived by his son Dustin (Franchesca Heikkila) Peterson and their son Tomas B. Peterson

A graveside service for Tom will be held 11 am Monday August 24, 2020, at the Forest Hill Cemetery of Houghton with Rev. Jeff Paulson to officiate.
