Theresa C. Cousineau Barnett, age 77 of L’Anse, MI passed away September 17th, 2022 at Bayside Village in L’Anse, MI.
She was born on March 22nd, 1945 in Manistique, MI to Stacy and Lilly (Asp) Cousineau Crossley.
She was united in marriage to William L. Barnett on June 26th, 1965 in Munising, MI. Bill and Theresa lived in Skanee, MI until 2014 when they moved to L’Anse, and she loved it.
Theresa worked as a bartender at the Timbers and Huron Bay Tavern; as a clerk at Coast to Coast Hardware; as a cook at the Coffee Shoppe; as an outreach worker for Baragaland Senior Citizen’s and as a cashier at the Ojibwa Casino in Baraga. She loved working in the public and she enjoyed the people.
Surviving are her husband Bill Barnett of L’Anse; children, Keith (Holly) Barnett of L’Anse and Nicole (Brian) Gruber of Milwaukee, WI; siblings, Rose (David) Osterhout of Kalkaska, MI, Dennis (Kerry) Cousineau of Gladstone, MI, John W. Crossley of Manistique, MI, and half sister nadine Eckert of Plainsville, OH; grandchildren Kelli (Mike) Johnson of L’Anse, Joshua (Maddie) Barnett of L’anse, and Sophie Gruber of Milwaukee, WI; great grandchildren, Brynlee and Eli Johnson, and Dayton Barnett.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents Enoch and Dorothy Asp, Albert and Rose Cousineau; step father John T. Crossley; mother Lilly Crossley and father Stacy Cousineau.
Visitation will be on Thursday, September 22nd from 3:30-5:00 p.m. at Jacobson Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor Peter Suomela officiating. A light lunch will follow at the funeral home.
