Obituary: Tammy Hopf

UPDATE: A graveside service for Elenore and Tammy Hopf will be held on Tuesday August 20, 2024 at 11:00 am in the Maple Hill Cemetery located in Lake Linden, Michigan.

Tammy Hopf, 56, of Mesa, AZ, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Abrazo Arizona Heart Hospital.

She was born Tammy Lou Hopf on December 8, 1967, the third of five children, daughter of Marvin Hopf and Elenore (Brommer) Hopf, in Lake Linden, MI. She grew up in Hubbell and graduated from Calumet High School in the Class of 1987 (attending graduation at Lake Linden-Hubbell School). After that she worked at McDonalds in Houghton for a few years, then a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) for Janus Home Healthcare; she also worked at Hardees and Walmart in Houghton for a while.  She moved to Alma, Wisconsin in 1997 and stayed there for about a year then moved to Arizona in 1998. There she resumed working as a CNA. Her most recent place of employment was at Friendship Village, where she was well liked and is missed by her coworkers.

Tammy was a kind person and would talk to almost anybody. She will be missed.

Tammy was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Elenore (Brommer) Hopf, uncle Gordon Hopf Jr., uncle Edmund Fernholz, uncle Melvin Larson; aunt Dolores (Wenger) Hopf (Gordon Jr.), aunt Marion (Brommer) Fernholz (Edmund), aunt Violet (Hopf) Larson (Melvin), aunt Pearl (Hopf) Kaufman, aunt Gladys (Carothers) Larson (Melvin). Tammy was also preceded in death by cousin Mary Fernholz, cousin Allen Fernholz, cousin Danny Hopf and cousin Wayne Hopf, and various other relatives.

Tammy is survived by her siblings, brother Timmie (Jayne) Hopf of Augusta, ME, a brother Tommy Hopf of Phoenix, AZ, a brother Terence “Terry” Hopf of Wixom, MI, and a sister Tracy (Mhmoud) Hopf of Wixom, MI. Tammy is also survived by uncle John Olson of Mondovi, WI, aunt Maxine (Brommer) Olson (John) of Mondovi, WI, also niece Elizabeth Hopf (Phil) of Calumet, MI, and nephew Martin Hopf of Negaunee, MI, and nephew Benjamin Stricker, and niece Tara (Kallio) Dawes (John) of Sterling Hts., MI, and niece Kristin Kallio (Mac) of Holly, MI. Tammy is also survived by cousin William Fernholz, cousin Emmett Fernholz (Debra) of Belle Plain, MN, cousin Christine (Fernholz) Loewenhagen of Waumandee, WI, also cousin Jeff Olson of Mondovi, WI, cousin Micheal Olson of Mondovi, WI, and also cousins Barbara,  Patricia, and Nancy, and various other relatives. Tammy is also survived and missed by her dear friend Joel Landeros of Mesa, AZ.

The Erickson-Crowley-Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet is assisting the family.
