Sylvia Gail Thomas, age 69, of Covington, MI passed away on Monday, July 18, 2022 at her home.
She was born September 2, 1952 in Springfield, Vermont, daughter of Gerald and Edith (Adams) Start. Sylvia graduated from Bellows Falls High School in 1971. She married John Thomas on December 9, 1979 in Weston, VT. They resided in Bellows Falls, VT where Sylvia worked as a CNA at various nursing homes. Then later moved to Tennessee where she substitute taught in Cocke County. In 2012 they moved to Covington.
Sylvia was a very strong opinionated woman and very independent. She enjoyed gardening and canning.
Surviving are her husband John Thomas of Covington; children, Melissa (Kevin) Tormanen of Rugby, ND, Michele Lingerfelt of Newport, TN, Michael Thomas of Crystal Falls, MI; grandchildren, Haley, Nathaniel, Christopher, Heather, John, Felicia, and Kessa. She is preceded in death by her parents Gerald and Edith Start.
A private family service will be held. Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
