Susan M. Bennett, age 76, of Watton, Michigan passed away at her home on Tuesday, October 1, 2019. She was born in Detroit, MI on August 1, 1943, the daughter of the late Sidney and Margaret (Burt) Wipp. Susan graduated from Royal Oak High School in 1961. She married John A. Bennett in L’Anse, Michigan on September 13, 1974. Susan had been employed in the public schools as an aide. She was a member of the Congregation of Jehovah Witness in Baraga, Michigan. Susan was an avid reader and singer.
Susan is survived by her loving husband John, son Jason Bennett of Otsego, Michigan, daughters Julie (Gary) Wells of Lexington, Kentucky and Jodi McCoy of Regina, Kentucky, grandchildren Ryan Bennett, Austin May and Tabitha May, brothers Ronald Wipp of Tennessee, James (Marti) Wipp of Kentucky and Kenneth (Vicky) Wipp of Jonesville, Michigan. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial funeral service will be held at 11 am Saturday, October 19, 2019 from the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse, Michigan. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 am until the time of the funeral service. Following the funeral service, the family invites friends to join them for fellowship and a light luncheon in the Harrington Gathering room, located at the funeral home.
Interment will take place in the Sidnaw Cemetery, Sidnaw, Michigan.
