Steven Peter Grant, age 74, of Portage Township, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Baraga County Memorial Hospital.
Steven was born on November 19, 1950, in L’Anse, Michigan, to James and Martha (Ollila) Grant. He graduated from Baraga High School. Following high school, Steven proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy as a Petty Officer.
Steve had a knack for fixing things and could often be found tinkering with projects around the house. He enjoyed watching football, especially cheering for his favorite teams, and had a passion for collecting various items that sparked his interest. His warm personality and quick wit earned him numerous friends throughout his life.
He is survived by his sons, Mike Grant of Portland, Oregon, and Phillip Grant of Augusta, Michigan, sister Jean Hayden; well as many close friends who will deeply miss his presence.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents, James and Martha Grant; brothers, Curt and Jim Grant; sister Gayle Isaacson.
Baraga County Area Veterans will conduct Military Honors on Saturday, January 25th at 11 a.m. at Jacobson Funeral Home, under the direction of the American Legion Post 444. Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation one hour prior to the service to pay their respects.
