Steven “Cubby” Harry of Gay, Michigan lost his battle with cancer on September 27, 2023, at Aspirus hospital in Laurium, Michigan. Cubby was born on December 11, 1965 in Laurium to Herbert “Jan” and Florence. He attended CLK schools.
Cubby began working at the age of 15 at the Red Garter, and worked his final days as a chef at the Harbor Haus. Cubby enjoyed a good dirt road, wettin’ lines, turnin’ wrenches and above all making and sharing a good meal.
Cubby is preceded in death by his father Herbert “Jan” Harry, his mother Florence “Magoo” Stefonich, and his brother Scott “Hair Bear” Harry. Cubby is survived by his sister and brother-in-law Kelly and Mike Jarvi, Children Stephanie (Ross), Charlie (Amber), Tasha, and Erik, his girlfriend Chelsea Nacker, many aunts, cousins, grandchildren and loving friends.
A service for Cubby will be held at Erickson Crowley Funeral home in Calumet, Michigan at 6pm on the 3rd of October 2023. A visitation will be held on 5pm at Erickson Crowley in Calumet, Michigan on the 3rd of october 2023.
Flowers can be sent directly to Erickson Crowley funeral home or a dish can be brought to the barn on Tuesday for the celebration of life to follow the service.
