Steven Bruce Cotter, age 34, of L’Anse, Michigan passed away on Thursday, May 16th, 2024 at his home.
Steve was born June 16, 1989 in Marquette, MI, son of Daniel Cotter and Bonny Tikkanen. He graduated from L’Anse High School in 2007 and continued his education at Northern Michigan University. Steve pursued various occupations throughout his life, including cooking, cleaning at the Jacobetti Veterans Home, and most recently as a Sawyer for both Besse Forest Products and Collins Brothers Sawmill.
Steve had a robust passion and talent for music; he especially loved playing the guitar and songwriting. He was also an avid outdoorsman and loved spending time in the woods with his dogs Luwdig (Wiggy) and Roy.
Steven is survived by his parents, father Daniel Cotter of Keweenaw Bay; mother Bonny (Scott Connor) Tikkanen of L’Anse; brother Matthew Cotter of L’Anse; step brother Timothy Connor of Spokane, WA; step sister Erin (Tony) DiCarlo of L’Anse; paternal grandparents Eugene and Norma Cotter of Sterling Heights, MI; nephews Joshua Cotter and Jace Connor both of L’Anse. He is preceded in death by his niece Allyson Cotter.
Visitation will be on Thursday, May 23rd from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Jacobson Funeral Home. His funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. with Fr. Jins Joseph officiating.
