Obituary: Rylan Gibson

As received from Memorial Chapel Funeral and Cremation Service:

Rylan David James Gibson, 6, of Hubbell, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 18th, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Rylan was born in Hancock on October 17, 2015, to John and Kendra (Harry) Gibson.

Rylan was a spunky boy who loved making people laugh. He enjoyed camping with his entire family, cruising around with his brother in his fully charged John Deere tractor, relaxing in hot tubs, eating cheese curds and hanging out with his special friends from downstate, Jerry and Lisa Howell and Noah Marr. Rylan also loved all things “Super Heroes”. He proved to be the bravest super hero of them all, a true inspiration to those around him. He may have been met with many challenges but never complained and boldly faced every obstacle. He taught us all how to be courageous! Rylan’s life was cut short, but the impression he left on the lives of others will never be forgotten.

Rylan is survived by his Mother, Kendra Gibson, Father, John Gibson, Sisters Amelia (15) and Caedence (10) and brothers, Landon (13) and Jase (8). Rylan is also survived by great-grandmother Josephine Zubiena of Calumet, Great-grandparents Richard & Donna Donovan of Lower Michigan, grandparents Patrick and Lucille Gibson of Mohawk, David and Kathryn Wanhala of Hancock and Brian Harry of Baltic. He is also survived by numerous aunts and uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandma, Melinda Donovan (Harry) of Ripley.

Visitation for Rylan will be from 9-12 on Saturday, July 23rd 2022, at St. Ignatius Church in Houghton. Funeral Service will follow, beginning at 12pm. Burial will be immediately following the funeral at the Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock.

A Post funeral “celebration of life” gathering location will be announced at the funeral. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family by visiting www.memorialchapel.net.

The Memorial Chapel Funeral & Cremation Service Hancock Chapel has been assisting the family with the arrangements.
