Chassell
Rose M. Guili (Grandma Rosie), 95, a former resident of Chassell, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at Woodland Haven of the Houghton County Medical Care Facility in Hancock where she had been a resident for the past 3 years.
She was born on July 7, 1923, in Seeberville, MI, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Josephine (Cor) Persha. Rose was raised in Seeberville and graduated from the Jeffers School.
On July 23, 1941, she was united in marriage to Louis Guili. The couple resided in Trimountain where they raised their two children. In 1984, they moved to make their home in Chassell where Rose resided until becoming a resident patient at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility. In July of 1999, Louis preceded Rose in death.
Mrs. Guili had worked for the Copper Range Rail Road and retired from Venture Corporation.
Rose was first a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Painesdale and now St. Anne’s Catholic Church of Chassell. Mrs. Guili was active with the Altar Society of St. Anne’s Catholic Church and bowled in the local leagues when she was younger. She also had enjoyed bird hunting and having lunch at the Toivola Lunch with her husband. Rose was known for making and giving her famous poviticas for special occasions.
Preceding her in death were her husband, her parents, her son Henry, three sisters and two brothers.

Her special friends; Sandy and Dennis
A private service for Rose will be held at a later time at the Plowe Funeral Home of Houghton with Fr. Dustin Larson to officiate. Burial will be in the Chassell Cemetery.
Rose’s family would like to thank the staff of the Houghton County Medical Care Facility in Hancock for the care given to her during her stay.
