Obituary: Ronald W Haka

Ronald W Haka, age 78 of Pelkie, MI passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital.

He was born April 14, 1940 in L’Anse, MI son of Wesley and Yvonne (Brazeau) Haka. Ron graduated from Baraga High School in 1959. In 1963 he joined the Army National Guard. He worked as a truck driver for Hocking Construction, equipment operator/trucker for Luke Brothers and the Baraga County Road Commission prior to starting Ron Haka Trucking, retiring in 1995.

Ron was a life member of Ottawa Sportsman Club, Portage Lake Sportsman Club, American Trap Shooters Association, and the NRA. He was phenomenal at wood working and loved hunting.

Surviving are his brother John Haka of Decatur, TX; sister Sally (Paul) Outinen of Ishpeming, MI; numerous cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceding him in death are his parents and brother Jack Haka.

Visitation will be on Monday, May 7th from 10-11 a.m. at Mission United Lutheran Church. A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Michael Laako officiating. Burial will be in the Pelkie Cemetery with the Baraga County Area Veterans conducting military rites under the direction of the American Legion Post 444. A luncheon will follow at the Ottawa Sportsman’s Club in Pelkie. The Jacobson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
