November 13, 2018 Calumet
Ronald B. Toupin, 76, a resident of Calumet passed away on Tuesday November 13, 2018 at the Aspirus Hospital in Wausau, Wisconsin following a short illness.
He was born on July 1, 1942 in Detroit a son of the late Bernard and Christine (Novak) Toupin.
He graduated from Calumet High School with the Class of 1960.
Ron enlisted in the U.S. Army serving from 1962-1964 until his honorable discharge.
He was employed at the Calumet Air Base in the commissary until its closing and then worked at the commissary at K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base. He was a mailman in the Lake Linden area. He also worked at Jack’s IGA in Harvey. He returned to Calumet upon retiring and began volunteering at the Fireman’s Museum in Calumet. Ron also enjoyed visiting his daughters and spending time with his grandchildren.
Ron enjoyed sports, whether it was Calumet hockey, basketball, or volleyball, he knew the stats. He was also a longtime fan of the Detroit Lions, Red Wings and Tigers. He also enjoyed taking walks through Calumet, stopping to talk and have a cup of coffee at many businesses. Ron always had a joke to tell or a story from the Porcupine Press.
He is survived by his 4 Daughters:

Timery Toupin of Rochester Hills, MI
Karissa (Brock) Roudebush of Marquette, MI
Lindsey Toupin of Madison, WI
4 Grandchildren: Piper, Aili, Rece and Ira Roudebush, 3 Fur Grand dogs: Linus, Bristol and Watson
Friend and mother of his children: Dinah Coello of Laurium
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday November 21, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet.
Visitation will be held from 11:00-1:00 PM on Wednesday.
