Ronald “Ron-Cat” Koski passed away unexpectedly at Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital on April 17th 2023 with his family by his side.
Ron was born on September 9, 1961. He was the youngest of 9 siblings, to the late Bertha (Winquist) and Raymond Koski of Mohawk. Preceding his death are his son Bradley Spagnotti, his brothers Gene, David and Daniel and his sisters Marcia and Alicia.
Ron is survived by his wife of 33 years, Wanda (Tanskanen) Koski, son Brian (Emily) Koski and grandson Lyle Koski of Kearsarge. Brothers Michael & Richard Koski of Mohawk and sister Lori (Bruce) Mihelich of Kenosha Wisconsin. Also numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and his very best friend of 52 years, Bob Dahlgren of Mohawk.
Ron graduated from Calumet High School in 1979 where he was a goal tender for the school’s hockey team. After high school, Ron joined the Army where he then served in Germany for a significant amount of time. Ron spoke so fondly of the time he spent over seas.
Ron absolutely loved the outdoors and spent 10 years working on Isle Royale. Where he enjoyed kayaking, fishing and boating in his free time. Back on the main land, he enjoyed four wheeling, snowmobiling, camping, listening to music and watching hockey.
Ron had a wonderful sense of humor. He was always making jokes and quippy comments. His laughter was enough to put a smile on anybody’s face. Ron will certainly be missed by all who knew him.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Ron’s life at the Dockside Resort, Sunday July 2nd at 2 p.m., where his brothers Mike and Rich spend their summers.
