Obituary: Robert Seppanen

As received from the Jacobson Funeral Home:

Robert Stanley (Bobby) Seppanen, age 73 of L’Anse, MI passed away on Wednesday, March 2nd, 2022 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital following a short illness. Bobby was a kind person. You could not find another human being that was as wonderful as Bob. He never spoke a mean word about anyone. He never once used foul language about anything. He was indeed one of a kind.
He was born June 3, 1948 in L’Anse, MI son of Waino and Eleanor (Spruce) Seppanen. Bobby attended school at the old Red School in L’Anse. He worked as a janitor at the L’Anse Area Schools for 34 years, earning numerous plaques of recognition for his work. Bobby retired in 2004. He had met and gained many friends during his life and employment. You could not go anywhere with Bobby when someone would come up to him and strike up a conversation. You would be standing there listening to their talking about the old days and what was happening now. Bob was also a member of the KBIC. He for the most part enjoyed painting, coloring, watching the Packers and WWE wrestling. He was especially happy to have seen in person Hulk Hogan, the Shiek, and many others when they would come to Marquette. Concerning professional football, many people would laugh with Bob about all the football bets they had lost to him (25 cents a game). His siblings also lost a lot of those bets.
Surviving are his siblings John (Carol) Seppanen of L’Anse, Ronald (Elizabeth) Spruce, of L’Anse, William Seppanen, Dorothy Stephens, and Wanda Seppanen all of Baraga; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceding him in death are his parents and his brother Roger Seppanen.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, March 7th at the KBIC Zeba Hall from 1-3:40 p.m. This will be a Pot Luck, so feel free to bring a dish to pass. Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
