Robert Roy Lamerand, 80, a resident of Copper City, Michigan passed away on December 3, 2024 at the UP Health Systems hospital in Marquette, Michigan. Robert was born on September 12, 1944 in Laurium, Michigan to Ed and Mary Lamerand.
Robert graduated from Calumet High School in 1962. Shortly after graduating, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy as an electrical technician, third class. After serving, he returned to the U.P. where he helped establish CLK Electronics, continuing the business for the next 40+ years.
Robert loved anything baseball… from playing it, coaching, and watching it. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren, making sure to always sugar them up with cookies. Family meant so much to him.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Mary Lamerand, and his brothers Pete and Edward “Yuffo”.
Robert is survived by his brother Steven (LA) and his sister Betty (Ski-its), his prodigal son Steven (Stephanie a.k.a. “Saucy”) Pintar, grandchildren Cole (Gunny), Kane (Beldy), Laci (Saucy II), Chase (Beldy II), and Nash (Rambler), along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A burial service for Robert Lamerand will be held in the spring at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Eagle Harbor. More details will be provided at a later date.
