Robert Pintar, 80, a resident of Cudahy, WI, and former Painesdale resident passed away Thursday, December 14, 2023, at St. Luke’s South Shore Hospital in Cudahy, WI, following a lengthy illness.
He worked for 25 years at Milwaukee Area Technical College as an accountant prior to his retirement in 2005 . He graduated from Jeffers High School, Painesdale, Mich in 1961(after three years in the St. Nazianz Seminary). After graduation he attended Suomi College in Hancock, Mi. and received his B.A. degree in Education in 1970 from Northern Michigan University, Marquette, Mich. He taught for two years at the former Calumet School District #2 (Copper City and Centennial). He also attended Michigan Technological University in Houghton, Mich . He then moved to Cudahy to take an accountant position at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee prior to being hired by MATC. He married his wife of 54 years, Sandra on November 15, 1969 at the Sacred Heart Church, Painesdale, Michigan.
Bob had a strong passion rooting for Detroit and Michigan sports teams. He enjoyed spending time watching his favorite Detroit teams with his family. He also loved the time spent together taking family trips watching live sporting events in Detroit.
Robert was a member of Nativity of the Lord Catholic Church in Cudahy, a life member of the Jeffers High School Alumni of Painesdale, Michigan, a life member of the Copper Range Historical Society, a life member of the Cudahy Historical Society and a life member of the Painesdale Mine Shaft, Inc.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra (nee Rantamaki); three sons; Stephen (Kim) of Greendale; Gregg (Stacey) of New Berlin; and Bryan of Milwaukee; two brothers, Joseph of New Hartford, N.Y., and Martin (Peggy) of White Pine, Mi.; one sister, Julie (Paul) Mohar of Calumet, Mi. and seven Grandchildren; Kayla, Jonathan, Allyson, Kristen, Madeline, Noah and Benjamin.
He was preceded in death by five sisters, Elizabeth, Susan, Christine, Marian and Antoinette; five brothers, John, Mathew, Francis, Anton and George; his mother, Evelyn, in 1964; and his father, Anton, in 1994.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 28th from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at Nativity of the Lord Catholic Church, 3672 East Plankinton Ave., Cudahy. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM. Private burial in Spring at Mountain View Cemetery.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Robert will be held December 28, 2023, in Cudahy and spring burial will take place in the Mt. View Cemetery.
