Robert Paul Karvonen, age 73 of L’Anse, MI passed away on Friday, June 1, 2018 at Bayside Village in L’Anse.
He was born June 17, 1944 in Kalamazoo, MI son of Edwin and Martha (Partanen) Karvonen. Robert grew up in Arnheim and graduated from L’Anse High School. He attended college at Ferris. Robert moved to Pelkie and began working at Pettibone as a heavy equipment engineer; he later went to work at Baraga Products. Robert married Deborah Spotton on November 20, 1982 in White Pine, MI. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking.
Surviving are his wife Deborah of L’Anse; brother Michael (Ellen) Karvonen of Nisula, MI; numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by brothers, David and Wayne Karvonen; and sister Carol Richards.
Per his request there will be no funeral service. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Rockland, MI. The Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
