Robert L. “Bob” “Bushwacker’ Chenoweth, age 74 of Aura, MI passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at UP Health System, Marquette, Marquette, MI. He was born in Detroit, MI on September 25, 1948, the son of the late Arthur F. and Ruth Helen (Pickard) Chenoweth. Bob graduated from L’Anse High School in1966. Following graduation, he joined the United States Coast Guard and proudly served his country for 4 years. Bob married the former Mary DesLaurier on October 25, 1969. Bob had worked as a skidder/operator for various logging companies for 20 years. In 1993 Bob was employed at the Ojibwa Casino in Baraga as an Assistant Security Director and retired in 2013. He enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, baking, hunting, fishing, going to deer camp, and was an avid Detroit Lions fan.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Mary of Aura, son Robert Chenoweth (Jean Lane) of Aura, daughter Kerry Chenoweth Giddings (Andrew Elenich) of Aura, granddaughter Ashley Giddings of Appleton, WI, brother Ted (Char) Larsen of Shawano, WI, brother-in-law Jerry (Lisa) DesLaurier of Aura, aunt Dorothy Salisbury of Taylor, MI, and numerous nieces, nephew and cousins. He is also survived by his loyal dog “Zara”. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Art Jr., and step-fathers Theodore Larsen, Jr, and Lester Christiansen.
