Robert Grigg, 87, a resident of Depot Street passed away on Saturday August 7, 2021 at his home.
He was born on March 10, 1934 in Laurium to Martin and Elmie(Williams) Grigg. He attended the local schools and graduated from Calumet High School with the Class of 1951.
Following high school Robert worked for C&H Mining Company in the accounting office until they closed. He then went on to work for Thornton Construction which is now known as Superior Sand and Gravel until retiring in 1999 at the age of 65.
On August 16, 1958 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Nicholas in Houghton.
He is preceded in death by his parents Martin and Elmie Grigg and his sister, Patricia Miller.
He is survived by:
His wife Dorothy of Calumet
His sister in-law Alice Nicholas of Iron Mountain
His daughter: Cheryl (Bruce) Grigg of Hancock
His son: Marty (Mary Kay) Grigg of Bootjack
3 grandchildren: Jay (Brooke) Frankovich, Nicole Grigg, and Rob (Debbie) Frankovich
5 great grandchildren: Oliver, Lincoln, Paisley, Gentry, and Elizabeth
Per Robert’s wishes, cremation has taken place and burial will take place in the Lake View Cemetery in Calumet.
