UPDATE: We invite all friends and family to a celebration of life to be held August 9th from 4-8pm at the Hidden Pines Barn adjacent to Erickson-Crowley-Peterson who are assisting the family with arrangements.
Robert E. Hoffman of Calumet passed away suddenly on June 30th. He was born October 11, 1953, to Ed and Carole Hoffman. Bob graduated from Calumet High School with the class of ’71. He married Joan (Doucette) Hoffman in January 1979. Together they had two sons, Jeff (Tasha Johnson) and Justin. He is survived by his wife, sons, two grandchildren, Avery and Ivy, sisters Ruth (Walt) Selle, Kathy (Peter) Zimmerman, Marilyn (Willie) Winkler and Phyllis (Ron) Williamson, brother-in-law Alan (Janet) Doucette, sisters-in-law, Laura Aldridge, Elaine (Gary Peurasaari) Doucette, Linda (Mike) Magni, and Janette (Tom) Polkinghorn, Aunt Mary Eaton, special cousins, Liz and Jim Campbell in addition to nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bob was a proud veteran and member of Michigan Laborers’ Local 1329. He worked on numerous construction projects in the local area, across the Upper Peninsula and beyond. He was an avid Packer fan and enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting and playing hockey and softball in his younger years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law Claire (Doucette) Walkonen and brother-in-law, Greg Doucette, and his beagles Hubba, Mac and Patton.
