Robert B. Cox, 73, a resident of the Douglass House in Houghton, passed away unexpectedly at home Thursday, June 11, 2020.
Robert was born on April 18, 1947 in Calumet, the son of the late Robert and Luella (Lander) Cox. He was raised in Milwaukee and Graduated from Pulaski High School with the class of 1966. Robert had worked for Kohl’s in Milwaukee and then worked for Pat’s Foods locally. He enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers, Red Wings and Lions along with watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother Nina Cox.
Robert is survived by numerous cousins and will be greatly missed by his friend and guardian Alyce Hoffman.
Robert’s family would like to thank those who provided care for him over the past several months including At Home Companions along with Tonya and Linda. They would also like to thank Robert “Bubba” Megowan and Holly Mattson for their assistance over the past years and those individuals from Copper Country Mental Health, the staff of Armando’s and Victoria’s Kitchen for providing great meals to Robert, and the staff of Upper Great Lakes Family Health Center in Houghton especially Dr. Todd Anderson for his kindness and care.
Per Robert’s wishes, there will be no public service. Burial will take place in the Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester, MN.
