Robbyn (Gerry) Lucier, 60, a resident of Bootjack passed away Sunday, February 26, 2023, at UP Health Systems – Portage following a three-year battle with cancer.
Robbyn was born on August 16, 1962, the daughter of the late Rob Roy and Mary (Kahler) Roy. She was a 1980 graduate of Hancock High School and a 1984 graduate of Michigan State University.
In 1993, Robbyn married her high school sweetheart, Gerry Lucier. The couple spent several years in the Northern lower peninsula, where their 2 children, William and Ellie were born.
The Luciers moved back to the Copper Country in 2004 to raise their family close to grammas, grandpas, other family members, special friends and to enjoy the quality of life they longed for.
Robbyn referred to herself as an “HR Mutt” as she made a career for herself in human resources in retail, hospitality, healthcare and ending her career in banking working for Superior National Bank as the SVP of Human Resources.
Preceding Robbyn in death was her infant son Little Ger, her father Rob Roy and special aunt and uncle Nancy and Bob Leonard among other family members.

Her mother: Mary Roy of Hancock
Her siblings: Chris (Vicky) Roy and Julie (Mark) Maroste
Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins
A Mass of Christian Burial for Robbyn will be held 1:30 pm Friday, March 3, 2023, at Church of the Ressurection in Hancock with Rev. Fr. Jubish Joseph to officiate. Spring burial will be in the Lakeside Cemetery of Hancock.
Friends may call on Friday from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, the family suggests that memorial contributions be given to the charity of one’s choice in memory of Robbyn Roy Lucier. Robbyn herself was an active member of many local organizations such as the Hancock Public School Foundation, Hancock Public School Board, the Portage Health Auxiliary, Church of the Resurrection, and the Copper Country Walleye Association to name a few.
