Ritchie Dale Asher, age 72 of L’Anse, MI passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, August 21, 2024. He was born on April 1, 1952, the son of the late John and Gladys (Knapp) Asher. Ritchie graduated from L’Anse High School in 1971. He married the former Barbara “Barb” Perrow in Zeba on December 20, 1986 and they were happily married for 38 years. Ritchie was employed with the Baraga County Road Commission for 25 years and retired in 2014. He enjoyed bowling, going to the casino, spending time outside, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Ritchie is survived by his loving wife Barb of L’Anse, daughters Tanya Asher of L’Anse, and Heather Asher of L’Anse, grandchildren Brenden Asher, Chayse and Maysen Thompson, Skyler Stein all of L’Anse, and Savanna Miller of Baraga. He was preceded in death by his parents, his twin children, and brothers Ellery and Larry Asher.
A celebration of life visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at the Baraga Lakeside Inn’s conference room with a light luncheon served.
The Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse has been entrusted with the arrangements.
