Rachel Elizabeth Sliger, age 47 of Baraga, MI passed away on Tuesday, April 12th, 2022 at her home.
She was born January 14, 1975 in Dayton, OH daughter of Ronald and Carol (Benner) Blackson. Rachel graduated from West Carrolton High School in 1992 and then attended St. Claire College in Dayton. She was a truck driver for many years; her peaceful place was driving on the road. In 2020 she moved to Baraga and was a baker at the Hilltop Restaurant in L’Anse.
In her younger years she was an artist. She enjoyed building and was currently building a doll house for her granddaughter. Rachel also enjoyed gaming, good music and spending time with friends. She was also an animal lover.
Surviving are her daughter Elizabeth Blackson of Marquette; granddaughter Elliera Rose Blackson-Aldridge; mother Carol (David) Petrie of Dayton; and sister Beth Carrion of Dayton. and her former spouse David Sliger of Big Bay. Preceding her in death are her father Ronald Blackson and infant son Joseph (Joey) Tyler Blackson.
There will be no funeral service at this time. Jacobson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
