Hubbell: Paul Ziemnick, 84, passed away on November 26, 2022 at The GreenTree of Hubbell.
He was born on August 6, 1938, a son of Joseph and Edna (Messner) Ziemnick. He graduated from Lake Linden-Hubbell High School. He served in the US Army.
Paul worked for Quincy Mining Company as a welder before taking a job with Siirtola Well Drilling where he worked until 1998. He worked for Tony Burcar Contracting in 1999, and then, ran his own construction company until 2005, when he worked for his son at Ziemnick Excavating, finally retiring in 2010.
Paul was married to Gloria A. Kalcich, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Lake Linden. She passed away on October 28, 2010.
He was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hubbell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Gloria, and brothers-Bruce and Ronald Ziemnick.
He is survived by: a son-Patrick, sisters-in-law-Alice and Carolyn, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The funeral service will be at 4:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at Saint John’s Lutheran Church in Hubbell with Rev. Bryan Lundquist to officiate. There will be no visitation. Spring Burial will be at the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Lake Linden. The Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Saint John’s Lutheran Church of Hubbell.
