Obituary: Paul M. Dulong

Paul M. Dulong Jr., 77, a resident of Coburntown, passed away on Friday, May 10, 2024, at Canal View – Houghton County following a lengthy illness.

Paul was born on October 24, 1946, in Hancock to the late Paul and Joan (LaBelle) Dulong. He was raised in Hancock and attended Hancock Schools. Following school, Paul worked for Superior Crafts in Mohawk until his retirement. On January 18, 1976, he was united in marriage to the former Valerie Peterson. Valerie preceded Paul in death on March 29, 2020. The couple moved to Coburntown where they would raise their family.

Paul loved being outdoors, working in his vegetable garden, going for walks, metal detecting and copper hunting. He was a fan of football, rooting for his favorite team, The Green Bay Packers. He also enjoyed listening to music especially Johnny Cash.

Preceding Paul in death besides his parents and wife are his brother, Dan Dulong, Sr, and a sister Joan Anderson.

He is survived by his children:

Robin Dulong of Hancock

Kevin Dulong of Austin, TX

Grandchildren: Rheanna and Jaidyn LaRoe

Kevin, Jr. and Jon Dulong.

His sister: Mary (Mike) Condratovich

Sister-in-law: Ruth Ann Dulong

Brother-in-law: Donald Anderson

Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A mass of Christian burial for Paul will be held at 1pm, Thursday, May 16, 2024, at The Church of the Resurrection in Hancock with Rev. Fr. Corey Litzner to officiate. Burial will take place in the Lakeside Cemetery of Hancock.

Visitation will take place from 11 am until the time of mass at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be directed to a charity of choice in memory of Paul Dulong.
