Patty (Jimmy) Barroga, 67, a resident of Hancock passed away Sunday February 23, 2020, at UP Health – Marquette Hospital following a short illness.
Patty was born in Hancock on January 19, 1953, to the late Lawrence Sr. and Elmira Peltier. She was raised in Hancock and was a graduate of the Hancock High School.
On August 26, 1972, she was united in marriage to James Barroga at St. Joseph’s Church in Hancock.
Patty always was a hard worker; she was a prep cook for various restaurants in the area along with working odd jobs and was considered a “Jack of all trades”.
Patty was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Hancock where she was active with the Quilter’s Group and looked forward to helping with the church’s annual Strawberry Social. She had a great compassion to help others and most of all, gave her family time and love.
Besides her parents, Patty was preceded in death by her siblings: Ann Mikkola, Leona Peltier, Hubert Peltier and Lawrence Peltier, Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmy of Hancock,

Patty is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service for Patty will be held 4pm Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Hancock, with Rev. Brahm Semmler-Smith to officiate. Visitation will be held from 3 pm until time of services Saturday March 14, 2020 at the church.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy the family suggests that memorials be given to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church of Hancock in memory of Patty Barroga.
