Patricia Elaine Ross (Pat) passed away at her home in Houghton on Sunday morning, September 10, 2023. Pat was born on January 7, 1948 in Detroit to Barb and Bob Ross. She was predeceased by her father in November of 2017. Pat graduated from Plymouth High School in 1966 and attended the University of Michigan until she joined the United States Air Force. She married Michael Ferguson and they had three sons. Pat later moved to Houghton to be near her parents. While there she earned her degree in Forestry from Michigan Technological University. She was hired in the administrative office at MTU and worked there until she retired.
Pat is survived by her mother, Barb Ross of Gardenview Assisted Living Facility in Calumet; three sons – Sean (Julie) Ferguson of Lansing, David (Heidi) Ferguson of Midland and Martin (Andrea) Ferguson of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren – Kira Ferguson, Brittany Ferguson, Chase (Haileigh) Ferguson, Mathew Lieberman, Caoilann Ferguson, Mikel Ferguson, Payne Gregoire, and Daisy Ferguson; and four great-grandchildren: Alexzandria Lockwood, Mia Smalley, Brian Lieberman and Ryleigh Davis; three siblings – Susan (Michael) Benard of Mohawk, James (Valerie, deceased) Ross of Hancock, and Jerry (Janice) Ross of Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
As per Pat’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no service but a private family gathering will take place next summer. It would be appreciated if any donations in her honor be directed to the Keweenaw Symphony Orchestra and Meals-on-Wheels.
