Patricia Ann Heldt, age 86, a resident of Chassell, Michigan passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2022 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was born in Chicago, Illinois to George R and Helen V Metzdorf.
After graduating from DePauw University, Pat married her husband Lloyd A. Heldt and attended Indiana University where she obtained a Master’s Degree in Library Science. Her family moved frequently over her childhood years, and she valued being a resident of the Copper Country for decades. Pat enjoyed a wide range of interests and hobbies ranging from musical theatre to college sports and numerous crafts including quilting, jewelry and needle work. She was passionate about literature and reading and would rarely leave a bookstore or library without multiple books in hand. She especially liked giving individually selected gifts of books to young children of friends, neighbors, and relatives.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hancock, Michigan, and served on the board of the Portage Lake District Library for many years.
Beloved wife of Lloyd for 64 years and dear mother of James (Laura) of Sussex, WI and Dan (Rose) of Superior, WI, she was preceded in death by her parents and brother James Metzdorf. She is also survived by two much loved nieces, Mandy Heldt-Donovan and Trina Falace.
