Patricia A. Berge, 66, a resident of Obenhoff and former Toivola resident passed away Saturday, April 1, 2023, at UP Health Systems – Marquette Hospital following a short illness.
She was born on June 16, 1956, in Washington, DC, a daughter of Wayne and Violet (Taskila) Wiitala. Patty was raised in Manassas, Virginia and Toivola. She was a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School in Manassas, Virginia. Following High School, Patty attended a Welding Trade School in Gainesville, Virginia. Ms. Wiitala began a career welding bridges in the south.
Patty was united in marriage to Eric Devine and the couple raised a son Donald. After a while, the couple parted. Patty was united in marriage to “Rotten” Robert Berge. The couple resided in Toivola and on July 29, 2009, he preceded her in death.
Locally Patty had worked for the Elm River Sugar Bush, Festival Foods and retired from the Dollar Tree in Houghton. She enjoyed working with her flower gardens, dancing on her porch and spending time with family and friends.

Her grandchildren: Michael (Hannah), Maranda (David), Kaitlynn, Taylor, Ashton, JayCee, Myles and Morgan.

Her sister and brother: Denise (Skip) and Mick (Kathy)
Her Life partner: Ed Lampinen of Obenhoff
