Obituary: Norman Roy LaBonte

Calumet – Norman Roy LaBonte age 87, passed away in Mesa, Arizona on April 22, 2020. He was born Laurium, a son of Norman and Bernadine (Hermann) LaBonte and attended local schools. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1956 and later received his BS from Northern Michigan and MS from Central Michigan University. He taught school in Calumet and
Mt. Pleasant. He is survived by one brother John “Jack” (Gloria) of Marquette and one sister Carol Carlton of Eagle Harbor. Also surviving are granddaughter Heather, sister-in-law Gertrude LaBonte, numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers Herman and Ronald, and three sons Norman, Gregory and Joel. Graveside services will be held in Section D-2 on Wednesday, August 5 th in the Lake View Cemetery with Rev. Fr. Gracious Pulimoottil and CCVA at 11:00 a.m. Ryan Funeral Home is serving the family.
