Norene Verna Seavoy, age 80 of L’Anse, MI passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Bayside Village in L’Anse.
She was born October 21, 1939 in Arvon Twp., MI daughter of Lawrence and Ida (Elliason) Nelson. Norene graduated from L’Anse High School and furthered her education at Gogebic College and Suomi College, received a Bachelor degree in nursing. She worked as a R.N. at numerous places and last at the Baraga Maximum Correctional Facility. Norene was married to Robert Seavoy, She enjoyed painting and cake decorating.
Surviving are her 9 children, Robert of WA, Patti of Jacksonville, FL, Mark of L’Anse, Ron (Jen) of L’Anse, Richard of Fort Pierce, FL, Dean of L’anse, Nancy (Craig) Kent of L’Anse, John of Sidnaw, Tim of L’Anse; 3 sisters, Linda Tahtinen of Covington, Iris LaBeau of L’Anse, Lloryl Nelson of L’Anse; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband Robert; brother Larry Nelson; and sister Lorraine Stebbins.
There will be no visitation or funeral service. A graveside service will be held in the spring in the L’Anse Evergreen Cemetery. The Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
