Nancy Lou Harris, 73 passed away peacefully at her home on the morning of June 2nd, 2018, while holding her husband’s hand.
Nancy was born on March 4th, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan to Clyde and Irene (Sivonen) Nettell. The family soon moved to the Upper Pennisula and resided for a time in Painesdale before making their permanent home in Trimountain, Michigan. Nancy attended and was a graduate of Jeffers High School in Painesdale Michigan.
On May 5th, 1961 she was united in marriage to Larry Harris. They resided in Trimountain until 1978, and at that time moved to their current home in the Suo District, where they remained and raised their 5 children.

Jenna Harris of Painesdale and children Sydni, Kenzie, Kaiden, Rylie and Olivia
Great granddaughter Ava Nancy of Mesa, Arizona
Her Sister, Sharon Maki of South Range, Aunt Emily Coon of Novi, Michigan, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Nancy was employed at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility for 28 years as a nurse’s aide and physical therapy assistant. She excelled in the chosen profession spreading joy and sharing smiles with the people in her care.
Nancy was a fun-loving person with a fiery personality, and she had a passion for life. Her favorite pastimes included sewing, reading, Agate Beach, and beating everyone at Scrabble. Her homemade dill pickles, chow chow, and pickled beets were gifts from her kitchen and prized among her family and friends. Nancy enjoyed a good strong cup of coffee, spending time with her family and friends, and having all sorts of adventures with her grandchildren.
A celebration and remembrance of Nancy’s life will be held Saturday, June 9th, 2018, at 12 pm at Grace Lutheran Church in South Range Michigan, where Nancy was a lifetime member. The Family will greet friends from 11 am prior to the service.
