Nancy Jean McIntyre, age 66 of L’Anse, MI passed away Monday, February 5, 2024 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born in L’Anse on October 28, 1957, the daughter of the late Louis “Wes” and Ethyl (Schumacher) LeClaire. Nancy graduated from L’Anse High School in 1975. She married Timothy “Tim” McIntyre at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, L’Anse on October 25, 1975. Nancy had previously been employed as an office manager at Erickson Sawmill and retired from Besse Forest Products as office manager. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, L’Anse. Nancy enjoyed reading, crocheting, and loved being outdoors; kayaking, camping, taking walks with her dog, and taking care of her flower garden.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband Tim, children Kevin McIntyre of L’Anse, Kari (Patrick) Dunphy of Ishpeming, and Jenny McIntyre of Minnesota, grandchildren Josuha Carr, Addison Dunphy, Bailey Dunphy, Alexander Juntunen, Gabrielle Juntunen, Colson Juntunen and Kevin McIntyre, Jr, brother Paul (Ann) LeClaire, sister Mary “Musta” LeClaire, and sister-in-law Carolyn LeClaire. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law Diz LeClaire, brother Louis LeClaire, and nephew PJ LeClaire.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 13, 2024 from Sacred Heart Catholic Church, L’Anse with Father Jins Joseph, celebrant. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Immediately following Mass, a luncheon will be served in the church hall. Spring interment will take place in the L’Anse Evergreen Cemetery.
