Nancy Ann Rolof, age 85 of Keweenaw Bay, MI passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at her home.
She was born March 14, 1933 in Harrison Twp., MI daughter of Edward and Anna (Neumann) Scheunemann. Nancy graduated from Mt Clemens High School in 1951, and Central Michigan University with a BS degree in education. On April 17, 1979 she married William Rolof in Marquette, MI. After getting married she retired from Utica Community Schools where she was a 1st grade teacher. They moved to Baraga in 1980.
From 1968-1980 Nancy was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, then she converted to Catholicism and was a member of St Ann’s Church in Baraga. She was active in decorating the St Ann’s Church for 17 years. Nancy was a beautiful gardener and enjoyed quilting, needle point, and loved animals.
Surviving are her sons, Ed Elliott of Harrison Twp, Bill (Gail) Rolof of L’Anse; daughters, Marcia (Louis) Mitchell of Keweenaw Bay, Mary Theilen of Marinette, WI; sister Anita Stewart of Clinton Twp, MI; 9 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents and husband William.
Her funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, July 3rd at 11 a.m. at St Ann’s Church with Fr. Corey Litzner officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. A luncheon will follow the service in the church hall. Burial will be in the L’Anse Evergreen Cemetery.
