Obituary: Michael “Mike” Bugielski

A time to remember and military honors for Michael “Mike” Bugielski who died peacefully on November 13, 2017, in Marquette at the age of 72, will be held 1 pm, October 26, 2018, at Plowe Funeral Home in Houghton. Military honors will be conducted by the Copper Country Veterans Association. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery of Houghton.

Friends may call on Friday, October 26, 2018, from 12 noon until time of services at the Plowe Funeral Home of Houghton.

 Michael “Mike” Bugielski died peacefully on November 13, 2017 in Marquette at the age of 72.

He is survived by his children, Glen, Gabriel, and Katrina, several grandchildren, and his brother

Charles and sister Nancy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Grace.

Mike was born on July 18, 1945 in Grand Haven, MI. He graduated from Grand Haven Senior High in

1963 and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served with distinction for over 20 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant. His children remember him as a hard-working father who encouraged them to pursue their goals, while his grandchildren remember Grandpa Mike as an enthusiastic farmer and loving grandfather.

 Mike was accomplished at gardening and micro farming and often shared the fruits of his labor with family, friends, and neighbors from his lot in west Houghton.

A funeral is scheduled for 1pm on October 26, 2018 at Plowe’s Funeral Home in Houghton. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mike’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to CMMB (Catholic Medical Mission Board) or Doctors Without Borders.
