Obituary: Mary L. Sintkowski

As received from the O’Neill-Dennis Funeral Home:

Hancock: Mary L. Sintkowski, 64, of Hancock, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2019 at U.P. Health System-Marquette Hospital.

She was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 3, 1954, daughter of the late Anthony J. and Mary (Mandoli) Bilich. She moved to Hancock in the early 1960’s, and was a graduate of Hancock Central High School, Class of ’72. On August 25, 1973 she married Paul Sintkowski.

Mary had many titles such as wife, sister, mother, and aunt, but the title she cherished the most was “Dappy”, the name given to her by her oldest granddaughter, Alexa. She enjoyed numerous activities with her grandchildren such as tea parties, board games, reading, or just sitting at the kitchen table with a cup of coffee listening to the grandchildren tell stories. She also enjoyed her daily visits from her daughter, Janelle, Austin, and her two grand-puppies, Zoey and Kona, as well as her Sunday morning breakfast visits with Jamie, Bonnie, Guzzy, Muck, and Natasha, while still making time for lunch dates with Morgan, Jackson, and Caden.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Anthony Bilich and Frank Bilich; a sister, Deborah Townsend; a nephew, Ian Bilich; and a niece, Shannon Bilich as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and in-laws.

Surviving are her brother, Kyle Borchardt of Covington; husband of 32 years, Paul of Hancock; children Paul Jr. (Sarah) Sintkowski of Hancock, Jamie (Bonnie) Sintkowski of Hancock, and Janelle Sintkowski (Steve Tollefson) of Hancock; grandchildren Alexa Sintkowski, Jamie Sintkowski, Jr., Austin Keranen, Easton Sintkowski, Morgan Sintkowski, Jackson Sintkowski, Caden Sintkowski, and Natasha Veker; nieces Angela Schjoth of L’Anse, and Tania Sorvisto of Akley, Minnesota; and a very special nephew, Tony (Katie) Bilich of Madison, Wisconsin.

There will be no service or visitation at Mary’s Request.
