As received from the Ryan Funeral Home:
Mary K Shuty, aged 82, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2022. Mary is survived by her siblings Frances Shuty, her fraternal twin, Betty Buss, Tony Shuty, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Mary and Peter Shuty, and sister Vera Picchiottino. Mary was born in Calumet, Michigan, but spent most of her life in the Milwaukee area. For many years, she and her sister Frances helped care for their Mother Mary Shuty in their West Allis home. While Mary couldn’t read or write beyond her name, she had plenty of street smarts and common sense. She had numerous jobs. Helping family with her nieces and nephews. Cleaning for friends and neighbors. She did cleaning service for Mrs. Pabst at the Pabst mansion after training at JVS. This training was with the help of her sister Vera. She then spent many years working at the University-Milwaukee residence dining hall. She took a bus each day with many transfers from West Allis, no matter the weather, having an excellent work ethic. She was active with her sister with the West Allis West Milwaukee Recreation Department. Bowling was her favorite. Mary enjoyed crafting, knitting, ceramics, shopping, watching classic TV shows, holding babies, and special days like Christmas and birthdays that involved getting presents! Mary developed Lymphoma and battled it for 3-4 years. A constant fighter with a strong will to live. Mary and Frances lived independently in their home with the support of family and the caring companionship of the staff of Dungarvin, including Karen, and Chelsea, who she established a great bond with and certainly had fun together. Thank you to Accent hospice for your loving care. Mary will greatly be missed. She certainly was a force with her presence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday July 9th at 9:30 a.m. at the St. Paul the Apostle Church in Calumet with Rev. Fr. Gracious Pulimoottil to officiate. Ryan Funeral Home is serving the family.
