Mark McClannahan, 63, a resident of Hancock passed away Thursday morning March 21, 2019, at the UP Health Systems – Marquette Hospital following a short illness.
He was born on July 14, 1955, in Lake Forest, IL, a son of the late Lawrence and Francis (Majewski) McClannahan. Following high school, Mark attended Michigan Technological University where he received a degree in Civil Engineering.
Mr. McClannahan then began a career in food services working his way to becoming the General Manager of the Library Restaurant in Houghton. Mark also had worked as a cook for the Pilgrim River Steak House and Roy’s Bakery.
Preceding him in death were his parents and his brother Kevin.

His step-children: Ashley (Jon Dickson) Vogt of Edmonton, Canada
Arianne (Shane) Leivdal of Phoenix, AZ
Hailey VanDinter of Gwinn
Several nieces, nephews and cousins
His four-legged friend: Agatha
A memorial service for Mark will be held 11 am Thursday March 28, 2019, at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock with Pastor Sean Brizendine to officiate.
