Mark “Marky” Alan Berryman of Laurium, MI passed away tragically and unexpectedly on October 4, 2023, after a lifelong battle with depression. Mark was born on July 14, 1989, in Hancock, MI; the youngest child of H.Steven and Debbie (Harju) Berryman. Mark spent his childhood making memories with friends across the UP. As a child he loved to play football, even having the chance to play in an All-Star League during middle school.
As a teen, he was an avid and talented skateboarder and could often be found getting kicked out of every business storefront on Quincy St. “No” was always seen as a challenge, much to the chagrin of local law enforcement and his parents. Mark had a passion for anything with a motor, taking advantage of the full seasons of fun in the Upper Peninsula with his various snowmobiles, dirt bikes and four wheelers. He taught himself how to repair his toys on his own and was always willing to help a friend with their own mechanical needs.
Mark became a father in 2007 at the tender age of 17 when his daughter Trista was born. Mark found his soulmate, Beth Ann Heikkila in 2008 and they married on February 20th, 2016. Together they had three sons, Marky, Michael, and Jordan. Mark’s proudest accomplishment was being a husband and father. His family meant the world to him. Although his time on Earth has been cut short, his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
Mark is preceded in death by his father, Harold Steven Berryman, and special cousin Brian Buschell. He is survived by his wife, Beth and their sons Marky, Michael, and Jordan; daughter Trista; Mother Debbie Berryman; siblings David Berryman; Stephanie Shirkey and Nicole (Dylan) Eastman; Nephews Austin Shirkey and Greyson Eastman and Nieces Alyssa and Aaliyah Shirkey and numerous other special relatives and friends.
A funeral service for Mark will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday October 10, 2023 at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home located in Calumet, MI. Public Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM- 12:00PM on Tuesday October 10, 2023 at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home.
