Obituary: Marilyn F. Ross

Marilyn F. Ross, age 71 of Baraga, MI passed away Sunday, September 13, 2020 at her home.
She was born in L’Anse, MI on June 9, 1949, the daughter of the late Edward and Genevieve (Coski) Pelon. Marilyn graduated from Baraga High School in 1968. She married Gene Ross in Baraga on April 1, 1967. Marilyn had been employed as manager for Krist Oil “Citgo” in L’Anse until retiring after 20 years. She was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Baraga. Marilyn had served on the Baraga DDA Board, Baraga Board of Review and had been a past Precinct Election Supervisor. Marilyn was an avid local high school sports fan, she never missed a Lion’s game, she enjoyed shopping, traveling and her “sister weekends” but her greatest love was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Marilyn is survived by her loving husband Gene, children Tammy Crittenden of L’Anse, Murry (Nicole) Ross of Baraga and Nicole (Matt) Roberts of Oregon, grandchildren Courtney, Kelsey, Corbin, Kara, Nolan and Jaclyn, great grandchild Reed, brother Jerry (Jody) Pelon of Baraga, sisters Mona (Al) Whitaker of Tomahawk WI, Rita (Dave) Hahn of Merrill, WI, Linda (Joe) Ellenich of Baraga and sister-in-law Candace Pelon of L’Anse. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Jackie, brothers James (Wanda) Pelon, Ronnie Pelon and sisters Loreen (Jack) Sauvola and Jennie Ann (Joe) Martin.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Friday, September 18, 2020 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Baraga with Father Corey Litzner, celebrant. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass.

Please remember to wear a mask and social distance.

Immediately following Mass, interment will take place in the Baraga Cemetery. A luncheon will then be held at the Baraga American Legion Post #444 under the direction of the Baraga Fire Department and the Baraga Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
