Obituary: Margaret Stevens

Dollar Bay: Margaret Stevens, 89, of Dollar Bay, passed away at Canal View-Houghton County on January 22, 2020.

                The former Margaret Ewen was the daughter of Norbert and Emily (Pflugi) Ewen, born June 16, 1930.  She graduated with the Lake Linden-Hubbell High School Class of 1948.

On September 20, 1952, she married Kenneth J. Stevens at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Hubbell. They lived their married lives in Senter Location and Woodside Location, Dollar Bay.  He passed away on August 6, 2013.

Margaret worked at Atlas Powder and at Cybulski & Turnquist, CPA’s.  She was a member of Saint Francis of Assisi Church and its Altar Society.

She liked to watch the Pistons and the Packers play.  She enjoyed crocheting, baking and playing cards.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband-Kenneth, and an infant grandson, Timothy Stevens.

She is survived by: six children-her sons, Bill (Mary Ellen) Stevens, Jeff (Mary Pat) Stevens, Kenny (Mary Jane) Stevens, daughters Susan (Melody Snyder) McDaniel, Nikki (Donny) Ebert, Laura (Mike) Baril; 12 grandchildren- Eric, Rebecca, Nicholas, Michelle, Kimberly, Jake, Katie, Michael, Mandy, Emily, Sara and Robbie; 21 great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 27, at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Dollar Bay with Rev. Fr. Corbin Eddy to officiate. Friends may call from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday, January 26 at the Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden with a Parish Prayer Service at 6:45. Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Lake Linden.
