Mabel Laurie, 89, a resident of Copper City passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Saturday June 26, 2021.
She was born on August 9, 1931 in Ahmeek to John and Sarah (Chapman) Harry. She attended the local schools.
Mabel worked as a Nurses Aide for 39 ½ years at Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital. She was also a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother.
On July 23, 1949 she was united in marriage to Theodore Laurie in Ahmeek, he preceded her in death in November of 2009.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Sarah Harry, her son, Derrill Laurie, her daughter, Donna Nordstrom, her grandson, Jeremy Nordstrom, her granddaughter, Sarah Laurie, and her 6 siblings.
She is survived by:

Daughter-in-law: Jean Laurie

Her life long friend: Carol Yowell

Friends may call at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home on Tuesday June 29, 2021 from 12:00-2:00. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 on Tuesday June 29, 2021 at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Malloy to officiate.
A private burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery.
