Obituary: Lynn Rodrigues

Rabbit Bay–Lynn Marie (Paulson) Rodrigues, 71, (b. 1947) died on Dec. 16, 2018 at her home in Rabbit Bay.

She was born in Laurium and graduated from Calumet High School, Class of 1965.  She graduated from Michigan State University in 1969, and taught elementary school in the Detroit area for over 11 years.

In 1981, she married John Rodrigues and relocated to Minneapolis, MI, where she started and raised her family.  In 2011, they returned to the Copper Country.

She is survived by her devoted husband John, daughter Airina Rodrigues Dyachkovskiy (and husband Stepan) of Westchester County, NY, daughter Elena Rodrigues (and Matt Carlson) of Milwaukee, WI and apple-of-her-eye granddaughter Alexandra (“Sasha”) Elena Dyachkovskiy.

She is also survived by her sister Marilyn Fraki, nephew Kevin Fraki, and grandnieces Hannah and Amanda Fraki, all of the Copper Country.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Irene Paulson.

She was a proud member of the Calumet Lady Elks, which her mother Irene helped found in 1948.

Memorials to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or to the Bootjack Fire & Rescue.

A service will be held at the Ryan Funeral Home, Calumet, on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018 at 3:00pm with Lynn’s brother in law, Dennis Rodrigues of the Coral Gables (FL) United Church of Christ officiating.

Friends may call from 1:00pm until time of service.  Ryan Funeral Home is assisting the family.
