Lucille M. Makela, age 82, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2023, at Canal View, located in Hancock, Michigan.
Lu was born August 10, 1940 the daughter of Frank and Viola (Isaacson) Perona. She attended local Schools graduating form Calumet High School with the class of 1958.
Lu married Norman Makela on August 27, 1960. Together they had two sons, Gregory and Steven. She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, John Perona.
She is survived by her husband, Norman and sons Gregory and Steven (Barbara) Makela, five grandchildren Anna (John) Grey, Stephanie (Christopher0 Shroepfer and 1 great-grandchild on the way, Barbara, Joseph and Julia, a sister, Victoria Perona and numerous cousins and friends.
Lu enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, reading and music.
She was a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Lu was a member of the Sacred Heart Church located in Calumet, Michigan.
Private services will be held with Father Gracious Pulimoottil presiding.
