Luann Bastian 73, of Laurium passed away unexpectedly at her home on Monday, October 4th, 2021.
She was born in Laurium a daughter the late Benedict and Lucy (Tamborino) Destrempes.
She graduated from Dollar Bay High School with the class of 1966 and later attended the University of Michigan.
On August 24, 1966 she was united in marriage to David Bastian in Sacred Heart Church in Calumet.
She retired in 2003 as an executive secretary for the directors office at the State of Michigan in Lansing.
She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and pinochole. She loved the time she spent with her children & grandchildren & great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her father and mother in law, grandparents and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Surviving Luann are her Husband David
Sons: James Bastian of Ahmeek
John Bastian of Mohawk
Daughter: Lauri (Brian) Smith of Charlotte, MI
8 Grandchildren: Ashley, Nicole, Zachary, Dominic, Meadow, Daisy, Joel and Hunter.
Great Grandchildren: Marius, Jaelynn and Amara
Special cousins: Ed and Jana Jenich, Janelle (Jenich) Gronevelt, and Jenn Jenich-Laplander
Numerous other relatives.
The family will receive friends at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home on Sunday October 10, 2021 from 4-7 PM and a prayer service at 6:45 PM. A Funeral mass will be held Monday October 11th 2021 at 11:00 am in Sacred Heart Church 56512 Rockland Street Calumet, Michigan 49913.
