Lorena Katherine Domby (née Soli), age 74, of South Lyon, MI, passed away on Monday, June 28th, 2021, at Ascension Providence Hospital of Novi, MI.
She was born February 24th, 1947, in Highland Park, MI, the daughter of Howard and Genevieve (Getzen) Soli.
Lorena graduated from Ferndale High School, earned a degree in Cosmetology, and later studied Fashion Merchandising and Business Administration at Ferris State University. Before retiring in 2013, Lorena worked as a cosmetologist, retail manager, executive nanny, and Hospice caregiver. On April 20th, 2013, she married Robert “Bob” Domby Jr.
Lorena loved her children and family more than life itself. She enjoyed spending time with Bob, their dogs, and family, especially their annual family reunion camping trips, as well as traveling, boating, fishing, cooking, playing cards and other games, and attending the theater, cinema, and concerts. She loved music and had a flair for the creative arts, especially drawing and crafting. Lorena will be remembered for her generosity, kindness, thoughtfulness, creativity, and witty sense of humor.
She is survived by her husband Robert Domby Jr. of South Lyon; children Julie Wier of Fruitport, MI; Bryan (Kelley) Rebh of Evart, MI; Lynette Feeley of Dover, OH; Jennifer Feeley of South Lyon, MI; siblings Howard (Donna) Soli of L’Anse, MI; Norman (Debra) Soli of Jackson, MI; Kathleen Erickson of L’Anse, MI; James Soli of Cinncinati, OH; Kenneth (Donna) Soli of Jenison, MI; grandchildren Jacob Rebh of Grand Rapids, MI; Brittany (Brian) Polidan of Warren, MI; Erica (Richard “Cole” VanZalen) Mullins of Roscommon, MI; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Lorena in death are her parents Howard and Genevieve Soli; father-in-law Robert Domby Sr.; son-in-law Jacob Wier; grandson Caleb Rebh; brother-in-law Robert Erickson; sister-in-law Margaret Soli; and nephew-in-law Alex (Catherine) Fulton.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 6th, from 5–7 p.m. at Jacobson Funeral Home and on Wednesday from 10–11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in L’Anse, MI. Her funeral mass will be on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, with Fr. Corey Litzner officiating. Burial will be in the L’Anse Evergreen Cemetery. A luncheon will follow in the church hall. Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
