Obituary: Lindsey Toupin

As received from the  Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home:

Lindsey M. Toupin, 37, a resident of Madison, Wisconsin passed away on May 26, 2020 at her home. She was born on November 28, 1982 in Laurium to Ronald Toupin and Dinah (Jarvela) Coello. She grew up in Calumet attending the local schools, exploring the outdoors, swimming in the big lake, and playing with friends, especially Aileen, Jessie, and Tonia. In high school, she thoroughly enjoyed and was proud of her time in JROTC and was recognized multiple times for a job well done. She was also a varsity cheerleader. It is our belief that her happiest and most memorable times were spent in the beautiful Keweenaw with many adventures shared with friends, especially Sara, Lisa, Heidi, and countless others.

After graduating from Calumet High School in 2001, she attended Lake Superior State University where she earned a double major in Criminal Justice and Chemical Forensics. She worked for several large pharmaceutical companies and worked her way up to the position of Senior Scientist and Lead Quality Investigator. Most recently, she was employed by Scientific Protein Laboratories as a Documentation and Training Administrator and had nothing but good things to say about her employment there. She has always had a special place in her heart for babies and animals and would gush over either at any encounter. She was an unwavering Nascar fan and joyfully experienced a ride around a track.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Toupin, her stepfather, Joseph Coello, her special friend, Aileen Harbidge, and her “big Yellow”, Tyson.

She is survived by:

Her mother, Dinah Coello of Laurium.

Her sisters: Jill (Mike) DeVries of Auburn Hills, Timery Toupin of Rochester Hills, and Karissa (Brock) Roudebush of Marquette, and Dawn Coello of Dollar Bay.

Her sweet dog, Bristol.

She is also survived by the absolute lights of her life, Piper, Aili, Rece, and Ira Roudebush; Korbin Kallio; Magnolia and Cypress Beckley; Max and Eva Spelich; and Henry Collins.

A memorial service will be held at Lakeview Cemetery on June 8, 2020 with Deacon Art Stancher to officiate. She will be laid to rest alongside her Dad and Grandma, who she loved dearly.

In light of her unexpected passing, our family asks that you take a step back from current events and hug your loved ones a little tighter today. She will forever be in our hearts.
