Lindsey Rae Loonsfoot, age 35 of L’Anse, MI passed away on Monday, July 5, 2021 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital.
She was born April 4, 1986 in Hancock, MI daughter to Reynold Furr and Tracy Emery. Lindsey graduated from L’Anse High School in 2004 and then received an associate degree in Early Childhood from Ojibwa Community College. She had her CNA and working toward her RN at Finlandia University. Lindsey worked for KBIC Early Childhood Development, then as a CNA at the Lighthouse in Hancock, Bayside Village in L’Anse, and Green Tree of Hubbell.
Lindsey grew up playing hockey with boys and was on the squirt team that took the state title in 1998. She coached boys basketball in Baraga, and helped with football. In 2005 Lindsey married Gregory Loonsfoot in L’Anse.
Surviving are her mother Tracy Emery of L’Anse; father Reynold Furr of Las Vegas, NV; husband Greg of L’Anse; children, Skye Loonsfoot of Baraga, Angel Loonsfoot of Baraga, O’dell Loonsfoot of L’Anse, Darious Loonsfoot of L’Anse; siblings, Amanda Furr of L’Anse, Melanie Durant of L’Anse, Mitzi Furr of Wichita, Kansas; grandmother Gretchen Emery of L’Anse; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceding her in death are her grandparents, William Emery, Georgianna Emery, and Maggie Ramsey.
Drumming and a feast will be held on Thursday, July 8th at 1 p.m. at her home, 15603 Skanee Rd in L’Anse. Burial will be in the Pinery Cemetery. Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
